چکیده

The physiological data is characterized by large amounts of data, sequential data, issues of sensor fusion, and a rich domain complete with noise, hidden variables, and significant effects of context. There is a continuous flow of data, and the problem is to built a predictive model from the data stream. Several authors refer desirable properties for mining data streams: incremental algorithms, able to process examples in constant time and memory, performing a single scan over the training data, maintaining classifiers at any time, and dealing with concept drift.

Activity Recognition from Physiological Data using Conditional Random Fields

We describe the application of conditional random fields (CRF) to physiological data modeling for the application of activity recognition. We use the data provided by the Physiological Data Modeling Contest (PDMC), a Workshop at ICML 2004. Data used in PDMC are sequential in nature: they consist of physiological sessions, and each session consists of minuteby-minute sensor readings. We show tha...

Agent-based modeling and experimental economics: exploring the behaviors behind the outcomes

A series of experiments was conducted on a single set of subjects to investigate learning and correlated responses. Altruism was inferred from an ultimatum game, learning was inferred by comparing the results of two successive beauty contest experiments, and iterative thinking was inferred from the beauty contest results. This paper presents a process for numerically modeling the experimental p...

Analysis of sequential physiology data with weighted naive Bayes

In this project, I describe how I address the ICML 2004 Physiological Data Modeling Contest. For the gender prediction task, I compressed the large entry-based dataset to small session-based dataset and manually devised 90 features using a histogram method. Weighted naive Bayes (WNB) which is an extension of naive Bayes was applied and Markov Chain Monte Carlo was combined to solve the weight u...

Experimental comparison of multi-stage and one-stage contests

This article experimentally studies a two-stage elimination contest and compares its performance with a one-stage contest. Contrary to the theory, the two-stage contest generates higher revenue than the equivalent one-stage contest. There is significant over-dissipation in both stages of the two-stage contest and experience diminishes over-dissipation in the first stage but not in the second st...

The Process Model Matching Contest 2015

Process model matching refers to the automatic identification of correspondences between the activities of process models. Application scenarios of process model matching reach from model validation over harmonization of process variants to effective management of process model collections. Recognizing this, several process model matching techniques have been developed in recent years. However,...
